Thanks to our friends at Deep House Amsterdam we can present you the Free Your Mind Podcast by Wankelmut!
It was a fortunate coincidence that lead to Wankelmut’s breakthrough back in 2011. It was his birthday and the Berlin DJ added his touch to his bootleg of Asaf Avidan‚ “Reckoning Song (One Day)”. As most already know, the title conquered the charts; reaching number one in several European countries, was the most downloaded Beatport track of 2012, and was viewed over 150 million times on YouTube.
But Jacob Dilssner aka Wankelmut is way more than this one track. In 2012 he started working with Get Physical Music and soon after he released his next big hit‚ “My Head Is A Jungle” with Australian singer and songwriter Emma Louise. Big names like Gui Boratto, Kasper Bjorke, Billon and Solle where on the remix duties and the track made it in the Top 20 charts of many European countries once again. By the summer of 2013 MK‘s remix of the track was one of the most shazamed Ibiza anthems, and the remix was still the focus of listeners when it was released in August 2014; entering the UK Single Chart at number 5.
In 2014 Wankelmut released the second edition of his Wankelmoods Mix Compilation alongside the single “Wasted So Much Time”. Of course the original and the remixes by Kölsch, N´to and Kiwi made the release another club hit. Since then he’s also worked on remixes for tracks by Lenny Kravitz, Röyksopp, Talisco, Karin Park, Hozier, The Writers Block and Flight Facilities.
Some of those tracks you’ll hear in this exclusive Free Your Mind mix in collaboration with Deephouse Amsterdam. Enjoy guys!
